Serving All Five Boroughs

Rooftop Solar Built for
New York City.

Brownstones, townhouses, multifamily buildings, and co-ops all come with their own permitting rules. We design compact, code-compliant systems for Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island, and we handle the paperwork that comes with them.

Why New York City

Small roofs. Big rules.
We know both.

NYC rooftops are a different discipline than a suburban ranch: flat roofs, tight footprints, FDNY access-pathway rules, DOB permit filings, and, for co-ops and condos, a board that has to sign off before a single panel goes up. We've built our process around all of it, so a New York City install moves as smoothly as one anywhere else we work.

  • ✓
    DOB Permit Filing

We prepare and file the NYC Department of Buildings paperwork required for rooftop solar, including FDNY access pathway compliance.

  • ✓
    Co-op & Condo Board Packages

Renderings, structural documentation, and specifications formatted for board review and approval.

  • ✓
    Con Edison Interconnection

Net metering applications and utility interconnection handled directly with Con Edison.

  • ✓
    Landmark District Experience

Familiarity with Landmarks Preservation Commission review for solar on designated historic buildings.

Local Knowledge

Installing solar in a city that doesn't make it easy.

⚡

Con Edison & Net Metering

Con Edison serves all five boroughs, and NYC's electric rates are among the highest in the country. We handle net metering enrollment and interconnection so exported production is credited correctly.

📋

DOB, FDNY & Board Approval

Rooftop solar in NYC requires a Department of Buildings permit and FDNY-compliant access pathways around the array. For co-ops and condos, we also prepare the documentation your board will ask for before approving the project.

🏙️

Flat Roofs & Tight Footprints

Most NYC rooftops are flat and shared with mechanicals, bulkheads, and roof access. We design ballasted, low-profile systems engineered around what's already up there, not instead of it.

💰

NYC Solar Property Tax Abatement

Properties in NYC may qualify for the city's Solar Property Tax Abatement in addition to New York State's NY-Sun incentive. We'll confirm what your building qualifies for before you sign off.

🛡️

Licensed, Bonded & Insured

Common Questions

Before you reach out.

Can you get solar approved through my co-op or condo board?

Yes. We prepare the structural documentation, renderings, and specifications co-op and condo boards typically require, and we've been through the process with buildings across Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Does my building need a DOB permit for rooftop solar?

Almost always. We handle the Department of Buildings filing and coordinate FDNY access pathway requirements as part of every NYC install, so you're not navigating city permitting on your own.

I'm in a landmarked building or district. Is solar still possible?

Often, yes, though it may require additional review through the Landmarks Preservation Commission. We can assess your building and outline what that review would involve before you commit to anything.
